The children have enjoyed an exciting and creative week of learning. We've been busy designing and making our very own torches, carefully following our plans and bringing our ideas to life. Along the way, we explored circuits, including how to build and use switches, and even thought about the best ways to attach our circuits to the casingsome brilliant problem-solving all round. We also had some exciting visitors who led a "Cloud's Burst" workshop, where we discovered different ways of transforming sound into art. It was great fun! To top it all off, we enjoyed a lovely Easter egg hunt in the sunshinelots of smiles, laughter, and sweet treats. Wishing everyone a very Happy Easter!

Last Friday our school proudly took part in Red Nose Day! Students and staff came together for a day full of fun, laughter, and fundraising activities, all in support of a fantastic cause. From wearing red to taking part in games and challenges, it was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and showing their support. We are delighted to share that we raised a total of £32! Every contribution, big or small, helps make a difference, and we are so proud of our school community for their kindness and enthusiasm. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated – you made the day truly special!

Last week our students from Yoxford and Middleton made us proud by participating in the Pupil Parliament. They engaged in online meetings and sessions with other schools in our consortium, actively debating, sharing ideas, and respectfully listening to others while learning about British Values.

Last Monday, Spruce and Silver Birch classes stepped back in time with a fantastic visit to Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse. We started the day by dressing up and really getting into character. The children experienced what life might have been like by trying a variety of workhouse and farm jobs, discovering just how hard people had to work in the past. One of the highlights was making drop scones – and of course tasting them too! They went down very well. We also took part in a Victorian-style lesson where the children practised their writing on slates, just like pupils would have done many years ago. The day finished with some brilliant detective work as we solved the mystery of the missing candlesticks! It was a wonderful hands-on day full of learning, teamwork and a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone at Gressenhall for such an engaging experience.

World Book Day at school We had a lovely day celebrating World Book Day yesterday. It was wonderful to see so many pupils taking part and enjoying the celebrations, with lots of fantastic costumes and a real buzz around reading throughout the school. The children shared their favourite books, talked about stories they love, and enjoyed celebrating reading together. Our staff also joined in the fun by dressing up as Mr Men and Little Miss characters. Thank you to all the families for your support in helping make the day so special for the pupils. Take a look at some of the photos below from today's celebrations.

What an amazing week at school! Our students have been busy exploring circuits in DT, learning how electricity flows and creating their own simple electrical systems. We also travelled back in time to investigate inventions from the past, discovering how creative ideas have shaped the world we live in today. To top it all off, our Cooking Club had a fantastic time making delicious pancakes lots of mixing, flipping, and tasting!

A date for the diary.

Our Year 4 pupils from Yoxford and Peasenhall and Middleton Primary recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Leiston Primary School, where they met award-winning authors Emma Chinnery and Esther Freud. The children thoroughly enjoyed listening to their inspiring stories and learning about the creative process of bringing a story to life through words and illustrations. This experience was particularly enriching for our young writers and artists. We were thrilled to hear them read from their beautiful book, try drawing a character from Enchanted Beach, and receive a signed copy for our library. We extend our gratitude to the Leiston Education Partnership and the Leiston Book Festival for making this wonderful experience possible.
